When Shubidha grew to 100K+ users, we never had to scramble. The microservice boundaries drawn on day one still hold. Good architecture is the decisions you don't have to revisit at 3am.
A synchronous chain of API calls for loan approval was killing our TAT. Decoupling the pipeline with Kafka cut processing from hours to minutes. Events aren't just a pattern — they're how complex systems breathe.
A Redis caching layer between our NID verification service and the database cut latency from 800ms to under 50ms. Users don't read architecture docs — they feel the speed. That's the real spec.
99.9% uptime on a system disbursing real loans isn't achieved by adding more servers. It's designed in from day one: circuit breakers, idempotent APIs, dead-letter queues. Reliability is a decision, not a feature.

As the Lead Backend Developer for Shubidha, I was in charge of developing the API & Background services that powered the loan processing workflow. Shubidha was the first-ever end-to-end digital lending loan application in the country, and our goal was to make the loan application process faster and more efficient for users.
Core Responsibilities: Designed and implemented automated NID verification, CPV (Merchant Contact Verification), Deduplication, Sanction Screening, and CIB processing—significantly reducing TAT and enabling loan disbursement within 10 minutes. The system achieved 95%+ automation rate while maintaining 99.9% uptime.
Additional Contributions: Developed the Obichol App backend enabling bank staff to initiate loan requests on-the-go with real-time status updates, reducing TAT by 50% and achieving 85%+ staff adoption. Built high-performance APIs for the CPV application, automating merchant contact information collection and verification, reducing errors and saving valuable time.
